Manx Newcomer for KDM Hire Cookstown 100

Getting a few laps in before making his KDM Hire Cookstown 100 debut, was manx rider Jamie Williams, i caught up with Jamie and here is what he had to say ;" I'm a 24 year old self employed welder and fabricator from the Isle of Man! massive passion for road racing! And looking to race at international level!
Like many riders from Ireland, they have a passion for road racing, and Its fair to say, the same lure of road racing extends to the wee island in the middle of the I...rish sea, the Isle of Man! One rider who hopes to make inroads in road racing is 24 year old Jamie Williams. A newcomer to the Manx Grand Prix last year, where he finished 5th in the newcomers and 17th in the senior, with a lap of 115 mph.
The 24 year old Douglas rider began racing in 2015 on his trusty 600 honda, where at the Post TT event at the Billown circuit, he finished 20th, maybe nothing to shout about, but for Jamie, this was enough to lure him to the road racing bug!

Since that day, Williams, a self employed welder, has sampled other road race events such as Scarborough and the Infamous TT circuit, when competing at the MGP.
Whilst the KDM Hire Cookstown 100 will be his first foray to Irish road racing,it wont be his first taste of Irish racing, as Jamie competed at the end of season Sunflower races at Bishopscourt, where he rode for well known Rider sponsor, Billy McKinstry. Here Jamie finished in 14th and a retirement in the supertwins race. Having raced for Billy a few weeks previous at Anglesley, where he scored a few podium finishes, His performances were enough for Billy to get him on board one of his supertwins for the 2017 Irish road race season. Jamie will compete in both Junior and Senior support races at the KDM Hire Cookstown 100, as he will ride his own CBR Honda RR in the larger capacity races.
Having spent the winter recuperating from a badly injured wrist, Jamie is raring to go now, and will take in a few of his local meetings at Jurby before the KDM Hire Cookstown event. This wouldn’t be possible without his faithful sponsors, such as; Jaks Bar & Staek House, Douglas, Barabary Coast , A-Dore Furniture, Press Fit, Car Magic, AGR Motorsport,Ocean Motor Village, the 92 Club, Billy McKinstry, and most importantly, His Family , and the unwavered support from his friends!
