Welsh Newcomer for KDM Hire Cookstown 100

Over the years, Wales has produced some excellent road racers, maybe the most famous bring the legendary Malcolm Uphill, who became the first rider to lap the Isle of Man TT circuit at over 100mph on a production bike, and in doing so created the legendary Dunlop TT 100 Tyre! In recent years, there has been a small crop of Welsh riders making a name for themselves on the road scene, and I have already highlighted a few, who are on their way back to the KDM Hire Cookstown 100,however, here is another newcomer to the event, who has been making a name for himself at the Manx Grand prix and Scraborough, but now hoping to extend his road race experience to this side of the Irish Sea. 26 Year Old Barry lee Evans, first came to my notice, when he finished 2nd in the 2015 Newcomers “A” race at the Manx Grand Prix, and was in a good dice for 4th spot in the senior, before having to retire. For the KDM Hire Cookstown 100,Barry will be riding the Team Barry lee Racing Kawasaki Supertwin and 600Honda.

However, unfortunately, not competing at the KDM Hire Cookstown meeting, Barry Lee Evans has signed up with a team, which has supported this event in the past!, a team, who need no introduction to the Orritor circuit, PRF Racing, Carl Rennie, one of the team personell, has graced the orritor circuit , unfortunately, his last outing ended with a spill, but thankfully without serious injury. The rising Welsh star will ride for Paul Rennies PRF Team in the 600 and open classes,at this years Manx Grand Prix.

I think its fair to say, Barry Lee Evans has quickly established himself, within the road racing circle, and is a name to keep in mind for the future! Big Shout to BL Evans race sponsors, PRF Racing, Percy's Autos Paul Bland Motorsport, J.B Blasting Services and not forgetting J.P Evans Painter and Decorator.
